Tanjarae Porter is a skilled facilitator, an avid community-builder, and an incredibly kind human. I seek to work with her again and again due to her ability to consider joy and play alongside the very real needs and realities of the teachers she works with. She invites educators to build curriculum that is centered around the lived experience of their students and crafts workshops that mix interactive participation, dialogue, and critical thinking. Her work in early childhood education, arts-based literacy, and culturally responsive teaching practices is not to be missed!

I participated the Intentional Learning: Using Children’s Books to Support Culturally Responsive Teaching in the Movement Classroom workshop. It was fun, interactive, and full of useful content! Tanjarae shared books and lesson ideas that I tried with my students almost immediately as well as big picture concepts I can apply in future lesson planning. The group brainstormed ideas about different ways to use a book during the session, and because my students have been so excited about exploring the book and hip hop, I’ve used a few already! I highly recommend Cultivated Connections"

Our session about Culturally Responsive Arts Integration was phenomenal. From the brain research that came out of it to the movement that was incorporated to gaining a better understanding of how we can use the arts to drive learning, it was so insightful.

This session was powerful and energetic.
